Pan Fried Funk ('Funk' for short) is Gettysburg College's official co-ed Ultimate frisbee team founded in 1998. Joining the Funk family is great way to meet wide variety of new and fun people all with the common interest of throwing a plastic disc at one another for entertainment. We have kept a strong tradition of welcoming anybody who is interested, regardless of experience, and we will help you learn to love the sport of Ultimate! We practice from 4-6 on the intramural fields behind Pizza House. Practices include a bit of stretching, conditioning, and drills in the first hour, and a scrimmage in the last hour. Discs are provided, so the only things you need to bring are a mask (COVID-19 era) and some positive energy. We hope to see you there. Stay Funky!

Why Join?

It's Fun!

You can't spell Funky without fun! Ultimate is a great way to hangout with friends while also being active. The most important part of the game is not winning. The most important thing is enjoying yourself while you're out on the field throwing a disc around with 13 other friends.

The Community!

Once you join Funk, you join a family. After every practice we have team dinner at the dining hall. Where else you can hangout with your new friends and just chat with people while you get dinner? In addition to Funk, Ultimate has a great community and you'll find yourself making friends with the other college teams you play against!

It's Healthy!

Not only is playing ultimate a great way to enjoy being active, but it is also great for your mental health. College is stressful at times, and frisbee provides a great break from all the worries of your academic career. So come out to the fields, relax, and throw a disc with friends.
